Simply put, Earthquake retrofitting a house is a construction process where the house is anchored to the concrete foundations to prevent it from sliding off the foundations, tipping off or toppling off.
When the flooring system seats directly on the concrete foundations and bolting is not possible.
Using UFP (Unified Foundation Plate) to secure the Mudsill AKA Sillplate (the most bottom part of the house framing) to the concrete foundations AND using the A35 fasteners to anchor the flooring system to the foundation framing.
