We are a general contractor providing full service residential and light commercial remodeling and new construction. We specialize in complete project management from design to final inspection, but provide a wide range of services from small carpentry projects to complete remodels, additions, and accessory dwelling units. Our cabinet shop produces high-quality custom cabinets, vanities, built-ins, and furniture, using solid wood construction and top of the line hardware.
Every project comes with its own expenses, and costs can vary wildly in a single project based on the materials and finishes the are chosen by the designer or customer. As part of our design service, we work with customers to select materials and a detailed work-scope that is tailored to their budget. While we work with most products available, we encourage customers to make decisions that are based on long-term integrity.
We have a very talented crew of carpenters, and work with the best specialty contractors in the area to ensure a high-quality product and service.

These posts will document the conversion of the Telford project, a church being converted into a single-family residence.
Aside from assuring the general integrity of the building, the early phases determine how flat, level, plumb, square, and strong surfaces are that affect the finished flooring, tile, drywall, cabinets, trim, and more.
If the nuts and bolts of a project bore you, hit snooze for a bit!
Reviewing the history of the building, we know that it was built in 1926.
Very little records exist for the initial build, but once stripped of its wall and ceiling coverings, the history is fairly easy to interpret.

This is going to be a fun one!
We're a little late posting this, but after more than 2 years of planning, we have broken ground on an exciting project in the Foster/Powell area in SE Portland.
The project is an old country church, built in 1920, expanded in 1939, and abandoned until John and Erin Telford bought the property in 2012 with lots of ambition and some big ideas!
Some of you may recognize Erin's name as a designer we work with frequently.
Once the property was re-zoned residential, Erin began designing what will become a beautiful residence with much of the original character of the church left intact or recreated in its original image.

It may still be cloudy, but summer is here and we are busy with our seasonally-preferred projects.
While it doesn't always work out this way, we try to schedule major structural and exterior work late-spring through early-fall, and focus on interior remodels through the cold, rainy months.
That means now is the time to start planning your new kitchen or bathroom!
Contact us so we can start the planning process and get your project on the books.
July finds us finishing the exterior of the Kirchgraber-Hughes second story conversion, while Madsen Wallcraft is hanging the drywall and we begin the fun part of finalizing plans for interior finishes.
