Aanensen's is a home remodeling firm, founded in 1951, and in our third generation as a family run business. We specialize in custom kitchens, fine cabinetry for throughout the home, and all scales of residential remodeling, from gut-renovating a bathroom, to building a large-scale addition, and complex "whole-home" remodeling projects.
We excel at difficult jobs and working in older homes to create timeless and classic spaces that last through the generations, and strive to build long-term relationships so we become your only phone call for all your home remodeling needs. We work throughout northern and central New Jersey, with clients ranging from the hills of Bernardsville to the beaches of Mantoloking, and have designed and supplied cabinetry for projects as far away as California and the upper mid-west.
We are proud of the fact that much of our work is from old customers, and their recommendations to family and friends is our primary source of new work. The Aanensen family is as fine a family run firm in the construction business that you can find anywhere.

Services
In 1951, Al Aanensen, with his wife Glady at his side, founded the company with a broken back, two unemployment checks, and a prayer for work.
He learned on the job to become a skilled carpenter and cabinetmaker, while Glady learned to manage the business while working a second job as a nurse.
Those nursing paychecks then financed the purchase of new tools necessary for Aanensen's to grow.
They even sold their home in order to pool the resources necessary to buy our current building.
Without their sacrifice and perseverance, we would simply not exist as a company today.

At the beginning of the process, we are a team of designers and architectural draftsmen that work with you to design, plan, and visualize your project.
We have extensive training and experience in kitchen and bath design and architectural space planning.
For an interior renovation or smaller project, we can do this entire process in-house, from concept design to construction drawings for permit filing.
For larger building projects with more complex structural requirements, we can partner with your architect, or recommend one we have worked with in the past.

We just completed this stunning kitchen transformation in Freehold, NJ.
It was a substantial project, a complete gut remodel down to the studs and the subfloor.
But the final product is impressive and the space sings now.
The modern look is both warm, with perimeter cabinets in beautifully grained walnut wood, and clean with a massive center island in white acrylic.
The quartz counters are white with a light veining, and the backsplash walls were finished in polished white quartz for ease of cleaning.
