Services
Repair work usually refers to replacing rotten components of your house.
Occasionally there will be some accident like a tree, a bird, or a plow guy that creates the need.
It is important that all repairs are done well not just to maintain a homes attractiveness, but to function as a component in a system to protect your home from the weather and deterioration.
With over twenty years experience dismantling problem areas I've gotten to see all too well the importance of doing it right.
When poorly done "patch job" repairs are done they typically lead to greater structural damage a few years later.
Doors and windows are on the front lines in the battle against mother nature with their sills sticking out amongst a bunch of intersecting parts.
It's common for caulkings and paint to crack at intersecting parts a couple years after a paint job.
Where there are cracks, if water is introduced, you know where it will go, It pays to give these vulnerable areas a look and tune up especially considering the cost of windows and doors.
You also want to take a look for storm windows that rest on the window sill.
As a carpenter I love to pay attention to detail and work the wood to have smooth and proud features.
Whether I'm responsible for the finishing or not, it is routine for us to include sanding the details during the process to insure that the woodwork will look its best.
Exterior carpentry, for me, is similar in that the features combine to create a homes character and how well it's crafted makes an impression.
So it is with great pride that we put together our exteriors, whether it's with wood or plastics.
Painting, the icing on the cake.
Whether it's inside or out, a lot has already gone into making your house present and perform well.
We want this step to compliment all the hard work.
Outside it's all about being thorough, jamming primer into cracks and nail holes so that water can't penetrate.
Being disciplined, so as not to miss anything insures that the house gets totally sealed and the next step will bond as it should, creating a finish that will stand up to the weather and protect your home.
As a builder there is nothing quite as satisfying as designing and building a project.
For additions or renovations it can simplify the process, to be able to work directly with the builder from the start.
I'll listen to your ideas, share my thoughts, then get to the task of working it out on paper.
I can do working drawings for figuring a job and getting a permit.
