Before construction begins, the most important step is a great design.
Some of our customers would like to build walls right along a beam or duct, and make closets in every nook in the basement.
Thinking in square boxes (literally), can cut up flow and interesting spaces.
We believe a well planned design is the most important part of your project, and something you will live with for years to come.
1. Leave the largest room.
Don't break up that space.
This is the "heart" of your design.
It will provide furniture placement flexibility, and accommodate future uses of the space as your family grows and changes uses for the basement.

Our standard front bars contain a wood countertop with Chicago style bar rail trim, support cabinets with a fixed center shelf, a decorative front "skin", and footrest.
The shelves can be ordered as adjustable or with doors.
To finish the front of the bar, we build a series of recessed panels with heavy profile bed molding.
We simply refer to them as "skins".
We typically use a solid hardwood footrest across the entire length of the bar.
This type of footrest is comfortable no matter which bar stool is selected and provides a nice option versus the arch of your foot supported by a narrow rail of a bar stool.

Nothing adds more beauty and value to your home than a custom built bar.
It's our most popular request!
We will design and build your bar to your exact specification including layout, options, and finish.
Our bars are functional, well-built beautiful pieces of furniture that will endure for generations.
You don't need to settle for department store cabinets and a collection of miscellaneous trim pieces to "configure" something close to looking like a bar.
Get the real thing - A custom hand built, premium finished, one of a kind bar!

Kingsmill uses the OHIO CERTIFIED STAIN program.
It was designed to ensure stain color consistency throughout the Amish woodworking community in Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.
Several wood finish suppliers and wood working material distributors agreed upon the Ohio Certified Stain criteria meaning that finishes with the same wood species and OCS stain number will be made with the same tint formula.
OCS wood finish stain colors are consistent with the same look when buying a piece of furniture or cabinetry from another vendor, or should you require additional pieces in the future.
