Services
Greyhound General, Inc. has a combined 75 years of experience between owner's and designers.
We are dedicated to providing our clients with a complete project that is smooth and undisruptive to their lives and households during the remodel process.
Establishing a work place and ethic that provides our employees with pride of workmanship and dedication to ensuring customer satisfaction.
At Greyhound we are a Design and Build firm that many of our client choose for their latest home additions.
These projects include room additions, 2nd story additions, master bedroom additions, and much more.
We have in house designers with over 30 years experience, and Greyhound General is always prepared, should the need arise, to access multiple architects and structural engineers to ensure the project is not only breathtaking, but structurally sound.
We are very thorough and spend many hours making sure all the details important to you are included in a very tasteful yet functional manner.
One of the first and most significant decisions that must be made when planning for a 2nd Story project is the location of the stairway.
In a perfect world the stairway should be as close to the front entry door as is feasible.
When possible we seek to locate the stairway outside of the existing footprint and incorporate it into the new construction so the new stairway does not block light, or worse, totally dominate a room in the existing footprint.
Another key issue is the insertion of an architectural "eyebrow" where existing first and new 2nd story merge.
Many times a home can be made to feel larger and more spacious by removing interior walls and or relocating kitchens and bathrooms.
Some walls are not load bearing and their removal is seamless.
However, even if Greyhound General encounters a bearing wall, provisions can be made to deal with structural issues, and we can still remove all or part of a wall so that your master plan and new design can be realized.
In some cases two story homes have large great rooms with very high ceilings.
These homes are often eligible to be able to add a "loft" within the footprint of the existing floor plan.
If your parents or children decide to move in or move "back home" the challenge is to create functioning space that will provide for the needs of your family and also maintain everyone's privacy.
Greyhound General will lead you through the significant options regarding how this new space will be labeled in the eyes of your local building department.
A lot of money can be saved by making the right building choices.
